Thomas J Gravina
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder

Thomas Gravina brings more than 25 years of a distinguished track record of entrepreneurial success and executive leadership to his role as Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of GPX Enterprises, L.P. and its affiliates. Mr. Gravina oversees the daily operations of the company. He drives specific areas of the business including: fund raising, the overall strategy and all acquisition activities related to driving strong, profitable growth. His visionary leadership and intense commitment to the customer experience and value creation have made the organizations he has led among the most respected in their industry.

Since the mid 1980s, Mr. Gravina led ATX Communications as the Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. During his tenure, he led the company to many consecutive quarters of significant financial and operational growth that led to sustained profitability, and ultimately completed a successful recapitalization of approximately $800 million in debt and preferred stock in April 2005.  

During this period, Mr. Gravina led the multi-billion dollar merger in 2000 between publicly traded CoreComm Limited and Voyager.net, and privately held ATX Telecommunications Services. At the time of the merger, ATX was one of the largest privately held telecommunications companies in the U.S., with more than 22,000 clients and revenues in excess of $160 million, with no debt.

In April of 2005, Mr. Gravina retired as President and CEO, but remained the going forward Chairman of the Board of the company until April 2006.
Since the mid 1990's, Mr. Gravina also founded and operated a privately held investment partnership that has made successful private equity investments in software, manufacturing, real estate and other industries.

Mr. Gravina supports many worthwhile causes, including the United Way, People for People, Special Olympics, American Cancer Society and Junior Achievement.

He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he sits on the Finance and Foundation committees and Chairs the Audit Committee. He is on The Board of Directors for the non-profit organization People for People.  In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of FS Investment Corporation (“FSIC”), a publicly registered, closed-end management investment company that has elected to be treated as a business development company under the Investment Company Act of 1940.  Mr. Gravina also is a member of the audit committee of FSIC’s board of directors and serves as the chairman of its nominating and corporate governance committee. He is also a past member of the Board of Eastern Technology Council and the Junior Achievement society.

Mr. Gravina is an active alumnus of Villanova University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Mr. Gravina is also active in coaching a boy’s youth lacrosse team.
