Position Title:
NOC Engineer
Position Description:
First-level monitoring and troubleshooting of network anomalies. Interface with customers for service calls. Coordinate repair with field service personnel. Internal and external escalations when appropriate.
Major Reposibilities:
- Monitor trouble-ticket queue
- Network monitoring
- Customer support calls
- First level troubleshooting
- Moves, adds, and changes
- Internal and external escalations
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years in network monitoring or service desk position
- 1-2 years experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls. CCNA preferred
- Some network security experience a definite plus
- General knowledge of telecommunications and data communications networks and equipment
- Some Voice over IP (VoIP) experience preferred
- Hands on experience with SNMP monitoring systems
- Hands on experience with ticket or service desk systems
- Good people / customer skills
- Able to lift 50 pounds
