Data Network Engineer

Position Description:
The purpose of this position is to support and maintain the network and our customer base. The main focus of this engineer will be implementing and maintaining IP network services and may extend to core routers, switches, servers and applications, as necessary.

The network engineer will be act as second level troubleshooting, and will also be involved in network design, installation, configuration, routing, etc.

Major Responsiblities:

• Second level IP related troubleshooting
• Network implementation / equipment installation
• Network configuration
• Network design
• Some vendor and project management
• Some equipment trial and testing
• Some product development, testing, and integration
• Some on-site customer interaction may be required
• Other duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years network engineering experience
• Experience installing, accepting T1, DS3 and fiber services
• Experience troubleshooting Network and IP services (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, MPLS, routing, switching)
• Some experience with VoIP preferred
• Some experience in network security preferred
• Cisco certifications preferred:  CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
• Detail oriented
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Salary to Commensurate with Experience

Special Skills/Equipment:

• Cisco Routers
• Cisco Switches and VLANs
• Protocol Analyzers (sniffers)
