Infographic: 2013 Year-End Unified Communications Adoption

March 31, 2014 / Evolve IP

There has been much talk in our industry in the past several years about the adoption of unified communications (UC) in the cloud. Analysts and other industry experts have been touting the productivity benefits of UC, but organizations are not adopting it at the rates originally expected. There are several factors that various parties theorize are the cause of that stunted adoption.

We ran a survey of nearly 1000 IT and business professionals at the end of 2013 to help understand the current status of UC adoption and unearthed some interesting statistics and trends. For example:

  • 84 percent of those surveyed not using UC today are planning or considering implementing UC in the next 1-3 years.
  • The leading barrier to entry in UC for organizations is “Selecting the right system”.
  • 47 percent of companies with Work from Home programs are using unified communications, and 52 percent of the organizations surveyed have a Work from Home program.

We’ve created this infographic to highlight some of the most interesting stats we discovered in our research.  Click on the image below to enlarge.
