Those clear, concise, walk-throughs – on pretty much every subject under the sun – put us in the hands of an expert as they slowly guide us step-by-step. It’s not cheating. Far from it. After all, we can’t know what we don’t know, until we know.
Of course, back in the day, it would have been a manual or a written guide that we would have turned to. Those of us of a certain age might even have reached for an encyclopaedia (apologies Gen Y and Z – that’s a large, unwieldly book containing cursory and out-dated information on alphabetised topics that people used to wonder about!)
In today’s digital world, easy access to tens of millions of searchable educational videos is possible with just a few clicks. It’s a democratisation of learning that we now take for granted but which empowers us all to broaden our horizons and add to our skill sets.
