Why A Mobile First Strategy Is Building On An International Scale.

In today’s work from anywhere world having an effective mobile strategy matters more than ever for our partners and the many organisations they support.

Today’s sophisticated smartphones are at the centre of a working revolution, creating an ‘office in your pocket’ to enable employees to work in agile and flexible ways all from one device. Trends such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) lead the way in simple, integrated and flexible communications on a global scale.

Here at Evolve IP, we are taking things one step further with the launch of a new mobile proposition as part of our UCaaS Solution which puts the power of a desk phone into the hands of personal mobile users, in a best of both worlds' scenario.

But let’s make it clear we have no desire to become a mobile network operator. Anywhere Mobile is not a mobile solution but a solution that’s mobile!

The desire for more mobility is not confined to the UK and is rapidly spreading on an international basis, as illustrated by the latest research from Cavell which indicates millions more users are on the way. It’s one of many reasons Evolve IP supports analogue SIP, Webex, MS Teams, and FMC to allow our partners to target domestic, Pan-European and global organisations big and small.

Driving Productivity in a Simple End-To-End Way

Anywhere Mobile should be viewed as an end point on our platform which delivers a host of value-added benefits to save time and drive productivity in an integrated way.

This new Fixed Mobile Convergence [FMC] mobile solution is powered by technology partner Tango Networks and is simple to deploy and use. It enables our partners to provide flexibility in device usage and encourages a BYOD culture across a host of industries. This drives efficiencies and convenience by turning any employee’s personal mobile phone into a fully-featured business extension.

The new service gives a business direct control over a second line on an employee’s phone, whilst personal communications remain private and secure. All business communications use the existing UC platform and business number.

Anywhere Mobile represents a major step forward and offers a host of benefits to organisations and their staff. For example, it allows employees to use the mobile phones they like and are familiar with. As it’s a full extension the presence of a user is visible, and calls can be recorded and fully reported with reports and on dashboards.

Anywhere Mobile requires no special apps, phone clients or training. It supports eSIM and physical SIMs. Furthermore, a business can reduce administrative overheads by eliminating personal phone expenses. They can also prevent employees from making business calls with personal numbers and retain business contacts when employees leave. Routing calls correctly means having proper call treatment, fewer missed calls and ultimately higher customer satisfaction. Anywhere Mobile offers the best of both worlds with added cost savings and convenience.

Demand is Accelerating on an International Scale

Mobility is not just a growing trend in the UK but much further afield too. This is one of many key findings from the latest research by Cavell who highlight how FMC technology is starting to gain traction throughout the whole industry. This is due, in part, to a push from leading vendors such as Cisco and Microsoft alongside technological developments, particularly eSIMs, which have made FMC easier to deploy than ever before.

In Cavell’s latest service provider survey, 88% of respondents stated that mobility was important now and in future, which has gone up by 3% since last year. This shows the importance for providers to now have a mobile strategy in place in order to remain competitive.

Cavell anticipates that there will be significant growth in mobile UC solutions in the next five years, with adoption taking hold after 2025 once awareness has increased. This is anticipated to grow more strongly in markets that aren’t so penetrated with fixed voice solutions, i.e. outside of the UK and the US. Countries like Spain, Italy and Portugal already have a strong mobile market and Cavell is also expecting more demand in France and Austria. Western Europe is anticipated to see the majority of mobile UC growth with 60% of global users in 2028, equating to 11 million users.
