Daniel McCafferty, a contributing writer to CIO Insight, recently discusses virtual desktop adoption and puts it into context with Evolve IP’s ‘State of the Desktop’ Survey.
“CIO’s and other executives are increasingly turning to virtual desktop deployment primarily to enhance mobility initiatives, according to a recent survey from Evolve IP.” McCafferty continues, “as a result, IT departments aren’t spending as much time on desktop-associated performance issues. “We are seeing serious interest in deploying virtual desktops not only with early adopters, but with well-established, more conservative organizations,” said Tim Allen, chief sales officer for Evolve IP. “The demand for a virtual desktop that is accessible 24/7, from any location, on almost any Internet-enabled device is increasing.”
