This is an Evolve IP quick tip video on how to perform a consulted transfer.

A consulted transfer occurs when a call comes in and you announce that call to the third party before it is transferred. To perform a consulted transfer, let’s have a call come in. When the call comes in, you can either lift up your handset or select the “answer” soft key. Once the call is answered, you will want to hit the “transfer” button on the bottom of the screen in order to perform a consulted transfer. Once selected, it will then ask you to enter in the extension or 10 digit number of the third party.

Once entered, select “send” in order to begin calling out to the third party. When the third party answers their phone and wants the caller transferred to them, you will want to hit the “transfer” button a second time. If, however, they do not want to be connected with the caller, you may hit the “cancel” key and this will immediately disconnect you from the third party and connect you with the original caller.
